So unfortunately the pictures I took from Isla de Ometepe are not being uploaded to the blog. As of right now their are only two pictures showing, I hope to resolve the issue soon.
After a quick night in San Jose, I left early in the morning on a bus heading to Cariari enroute to Parque Nacional Tortugero situated on the Caribbean Coast. From Cariari the only way to Tortugero is up river canals until you reach the island populated by about 700 people. After looking around I settled on a beach cabana facing the ocean for about $8.00 a night. While there I met a father and son couple from L.A. who I was able to split tour costs with. The first night I went on a tour on the shore hoping to sight turtles coming on the shore. Unfortunately all I saw were the tracks and nothing more. The next day turned out to be a little more promising when I went on a hike through the park. While there I saw Howler monkey's, Spider Monkey's, poison dart frogs, and a tarantula. My last day on the island was spent relaxing and checking out the nightlife. Currently I'm in the city on Cahuita, still on the Caribbean Side. My next stop I hope to make way up to the Central Valley area and than over to the Pacific Side.
