. the city is under massive construction, and we keeep getting lost. we finally find the bus stop and wait for like 45 mins...the guy comes finally but like 10 min late...and its pretty hot mind you. but this time we are pretty tired of walking, and waiting. so the guy in the bus rolls up, slows down, then flippin drives off. WHAT WAS HE THINKING. this pretty much pissed us off. France so far has been different...between the two of us, when we arrived all we knew was please, 1,2,3,
and we think no
is the same. so basically we speak no french...and no one hear seems to speak english. moving on...so we missed the bus, or rather the stupid guy just missed us. so at that point we're like, lets go back to the hostel and maybe take a siesta, then go to Monaco later. its like 4 ish now...we spent 2 hrs looking for the bus, and then just missed it. so we start walking towards our hostel....long story short, we end up on top of a hill, have to walk down...spend the next 2 hrs walking till we finally get home. nick mentioned his spirit was broken...i think its cause he's tired too...couldn't sleep in the train car very well. he said there are two places he'll never go back to. one is CONN, the other is now Nice. hopefully we will get to the stuff we want tomorrow, and have a good time. O and the other thing, Nice doesn't have sandy beaches...they're rocky. No one ever told me that. The hostel even has a picture of Nice, with a white sandy beach....and i asked the girl about it and she said it was not nice in the picture.
So my question...'do first impressions really count?' if they do, Nice failed miserably. Anyway, i'll have more for you tomorrow, i just had to vent, thanks for listening
So, as i mentioned yesterday, we missed our first train into nice, and had to take one later last night. the train ride was pretty good, but i think nick's sleep suffered a little. i got the sleeper car, and he just got a regular seat. we arrive in Nice, beautiful coming in...the train cruises along the coast at sunrise...the fisherman are out and the water is calm. quite beautiful. we get to our hostel around 930ish, and they still have breakfast going. again a plus. this this place is really cool. they have done an excellent job gearing it towards the younger crowd. like 12 computers free with internet,...and its really comfortable, and styled like a college dorm or something. anyway that is all good, and the people here give us maps and everything is good. so we walked down to the pier, checked out some of the yachts, big, but not as big as the ones we will see in Monaco. we then spent the next 2 hours trying to find the bus that would take us to a small village from the medieval times that overlooks nice and Monaco
