What is a trip to Montana without experiencing the beautiful scenery and the "Big Sky" country. And there isn't a better way to get there than by big trucks with even bigger tires.
Unfortunately a thief happened by my brother's Bronco the night before we arrived to pick it up after a year of sitting at the shop, he stole the fuel injection computer. A total bummer, but we didn't let that spoil all of our plans. Luckily, Ben's friend Mike of Mike's Off Road let us borrow his Bronco for the day up the rocky trails of the Tobacco Root Mountains.
Of course the rocky trail wasn't much of a challenge for the Bronco named Rusty with its 49 inch tires. That is except when I was behind the wheel! The mix of a 1st gear that didn't stick and brakes that didn't stop us from rolling backwards when I stalled scared me out of the drivers seat pretty quickly
And the true fun was watching Brian navigate his pick-up up the trail with the navigational help of Rob and a bit of a tow every once and awhile.
Other highlights include spending the night in the miners shack and proving to my brothers that just because I don't like guns doesn't mean I cant hit the target with a 45. (I won't mention that I was scared I completely missed, shot it up into the air and that the bullet would soon be coming back down right at me).
Not a bad way to spend a few days in Montana.
