Another week passed by and it seemed easier and faster as the propsect of the weekend lay ahead. It was a great week actually. Summer's winding down but all that I love about Autumn is going to be bursting through the seams in the next couple of months.Summer's always go by fast. You know the old adage "Time flies when you're having fun". Don't moan, you know it's true!
The sky on the way up was so ethereal.
The clouds were huge and fluffy and looked like giant cottonballs.
The sky never fails to remind me how small we really are.
The past weekend meteor shower got me to pondering that for awhile. A thundercloud rolled in around the second hour of driving and we got pummeled with hail for awhile.
This time Rosseau offered up her island to us again and it was all about the trees.
Tree Hunter and I hung out at the island all day Saturday. He taught me how to identify different trees. Hemlocks, oaks, cedars, maples and more. Then he climbed a few.
As usual I was enamored by the lushious green mosses.
We baited up but didn't catch anything.
Don't think there's much in the lake anyway so we just enjoyed the peace and quiet.
Before our route home we had a extra hearty steak 'n egg breakkie and then headed out after saying our farewells to The Hungarians. You cannot be around them without eating your own weight in food! We decided to wing it and take an unknown route home, winding our way south through little towns. Springwater was refreshing, just like th sign promised !
Stopped at an antique shop and Jeremy found an old Kodak Brownie for me!! Used to be one of Ansel Adams first cameras actually. The shots are incredible but the film can be expensive. Luckily, I already had them at home for another old camera! Missing my darkroom alot these days as it sits on the backburner :( Jeremy was the hero for the rest of the day :)
