Yes, sitting is bloody overrated. My ass has been camped on this godforsaken chair for the entire weekend and it's not one of those cool ones that slip behind your back like butter either. Nope. Meh, could be worse...Jasper's out like a light in the laundry basket beside me. Every now an then he wakes and gives me the evil eye, like, 'why aren't we outside? Why do you make me stay in here evil woman?' A Jack Russel is never satisfied, let me tell you. He's funny when he's dreaming, making these little whimpering sounds. What does a dog dream about anyway?
I gave my notice on Friday and, well, I really underestimated my boss. She was tres cool about the whole thing. She gave me the whole follow-your-dreams spiel and was really pretty cool. How nice to offer me my shitty job back! Nice offer anyway. There's some things you do b/c you gotta do them but when you don't have to do them anymore it becomes really easy to walk away. Really easy.
Sometimes I think dreams are overrated and reality isn't. Other times I think the exact opposite .Who really knows the truth. If life is really what you make it and life is the ultimate reality then dreams can be too. Reach for the sky and other cliches come to mind...
Right, so I'll be working two full time gigs for the next two weeks. Ugh.. The great thing is if it all works out I can work from anywhere and believe me, that's something I don't take lightly. Endless possibilites...
So, while the boys enjoy ice-cold brews on this fine, rainy afternoon, I sit here (obviously needing a break from my current reality) and write this. Nothing special. Just a few thoughts. I've been working the new gig all week and and it's going well. When I started my first articles a couple of weeks ago, I realized that I had to set a time-line goal and charge, not unlike a massive, crazed bull, headfirst. I'm getting their...must.keep.going. Research, write, edit. I can dig it. I could dig it even more if I was somewhere other then here, but that'll change. What do 'they' say? Good things come to those who wait? Yeah, that sounds about right.
That's it, I'm cracking a beer. I think I'm more creative with a little added influence anyway....
