Hello everyone!
A quick entry from Prague! We are very excited to be in our seventh country, and our seventh capital city! The train pass we have doesn't cover the Czech Republic, so we had to pay for tickets here, which wasn't too bad, but was a bit pricey.
Anyways, we got here and our train took us to Holesovice train station, which is way far away in the northern part of the city. Also, in the ghetto! Well, not really, but it was REALLY rough around the edges up there. We had to figure out our way to the downtown, since we had no map, there was nobody to ask, and also, it's a national holiday here today, so everything, including the tourist office, is closed!
Anyways, we finally managed it. It is VERY cold and windy today. I'm thinking I will have to buy a long-sleeve hoodie in Munich or somewhere (a souvenir, but a practical one!) so that I can keep warmer. My rain jacket is NOT warm.
Anyhow, I'm sorry this message is so short, but the internet is expensive here! We are really enjoying the city centre in Prague, it is very picturesque and beautiful. Somehow very East European, and very nice in its own way. Since it appears to be the national holiday of independance or whatever (like Canada Day) there are lots of festival-type things happening, and concerts and things, so it looks like it'll be a fun evening!
Take care everyone!

PS. Fun fact about Europe: EVERYONE uses an umbrella when it rains. Everyone. In Canada, we definitely HAVE umbrellas, and they definitely get put to use. But let's face it: nobody likes the burden of carrying around an umbrella if it looks like it MIGHT rain. So most people don't have them, right? Well, the funny thing is, you never see anyone CARRYING a folded-up umbrella. Nobody seems to have them anywhere. However, when it bgins to rain, the umbrellas seem to appear out of nowhere, and everyone has one excpt us. When you go into stores or museums, there is an umbrella stand by the door, and people ACTUALLY use it. It's uncanny! Anyway, we just thought that it was funny!
