Hallo alles!
Well, it's been quite the adventurous few days! It's actually been difficult to find an Internet cafe, so it took awhile before I was able to update.
On Friday night we had an awesome adventure in Heidelberg. I went for a walk in the evening by myself around the Altstadt and met up with Chris and Stephanie again. I told them I was interested in climbing the Philosophenweg again but didn't want to go alone in the dark, so they suggested going up there in the evening/night with flashlights! It was a great walk, though long! We went and got Alex and some flashlights in the hostel and embarked on the zig-zag journey up the mountain! Two and a half hours later, we got to the top, to an amphitheatre built by the Nazis using forced labour and where they spread their Nazi propaganda to the people of Heidelberg and to their troops. It was a very powerful and moving experience.
Saturday we decided to set out to Stuttgart, but when we got there, the three first places we tried were all booked up (there was a solar energy conference in town). We also looked into taking a train overnight somewhere and spending the day in Stuttgart but that didn't look like a feasible possibility, so we just decided to spend a couple hours walking around Stuttgart then we left for Konstanz, the city on the lake. It was raining very hard all day and we finally got into Konstanz and had no place to stay and it was dark and raining! But, outside the tourist office (closed) was a map with accomodation and after a bit of searching, we found a Pension (guesthouse) where the owner gave us his last room, which had been reserved, but we stole it!
Anyways, Konstanz was a great experience and we stayed there two nights. They have a great huge Gothic cathedral called the Münster, which we toured. Also, yesterday was a doors open day, meaning we could go into most places free.
I have to sign off now, but we are on our way to Freiburg im Breisgau, near Lahr, where I was born!
I'll write again soon!
Auf wiedersehen!

I think the word 'Munster' is a generic German word for 'cathedral' Say 'hi' to Lahr for me. . . There are a lot of memories there
