Yo. Well my time here in Kalkan is almost up. Tonights my last night. Ive got to start moving north to catch that ferry on the 26th. Dont like this being under pressure business. Ah well. Ill try and do Salikent Gorge and Klos tommorow on my way to Pamukale where I hope to stay tommorow night and then explore the famous travetine pools on Monday.
Today was really just a recovery day from the Blue Cruise. I left 50days worth of laundry at Kalkan harbour earlier on and just collected them 10min ago. I hope I dont sound too much like a page out of Alan Shearers or Wayne Rooneys autobiographies where they wax lyrical about domestic chores such as cleaning, ironing and hoovering - but itll be nice to have a full deck of clean stuff to choose from again.
After dropping off the laundry I took a drive to the nearby town of Kas - another picture perfect Med Turkish seaside town. We did visit Kas for about an hour while on the Blue Cruise but I thought today would be a good opportunity to revisit this charming little town - and no its not unspoilt - it does have some facilities and I was able to buy a cup of tea! Apart from the harbour, its got lovely old winding lanes with tastefully restored ottoman houses now selling tourist tack, a lovely tea garden just in front of the harbour and a ruined theatre and temple, all of which I strolled round and visited. All in all a very pleasant afternoon. Now Ive got to go back and pack in order for an earlish start tommorow morning.
Ill be sad to leave KK - as well as being a nice place ýn itself, it was nice having a base of opertions for a few days and not having to worry about gallavanting off to another town or worry about accomodation, but all good things... Cheers again Phil. So back on the rd from tommorow on.
