Firstly, G'day to y'all. Warm Easter greetings to you and thanks for all your wonderful messages on the blog! It's good to see that it's being read and lovely to be able to be to hear from everyone.

We've woken up to a slightly cloudy day in a wonderful resort. There are lots of activities for the kids to do - bouncy castle, rock climbing, golf, ride a Segway, the beach and of course the pool. I'm kind of wishing we'd booked an extra night here instead of two in Brisbane .

OMG! Marc's been going on and on about trying out a Segway so I finally conceded. What an amazing experience! All the superlatives about them are spot on . The are so sensitive and move forward when you move forward, stop when you lean back and apparently can accelerate up to 20 kpm . It was like dry skiing on steroids. Wonderful.

12:30 pm the raindrops started to fall. Not heavily, but enough to get us moving away from the pool and wondering down to have a look at the beach. It was pretty quiet apart from one couple swimming in the sea and their dog watching excitedly although too frightened to swim himself. And then the rain can down more heavily - we decided it was time to press on and make our way to Brisbane.

Although long , the journey was interesting. There were lots of rivers that our road meandered along and many houses raised above the ground to provide some protection against the presumably frequent floods. 2 hours into the journey the devices were employing me to take a rest break and our stomachs were rumbling anyway. We turned off the highway to a town called Bangalow which was inland from Byron Bay. Down the high street we notice a lot of people eating on benches what looked like Chinese. The boys were very excited at that prospect and we climbed out of the car to satisfy our tastebuds. What we found though was the Bang Burger Bar. Too tired to move on , we gave it a shot and were pleasantly rewarded with juicy chicken and beef burgers. A lovely find.

From here it was back on the highway headed to Brisbane. Suddenly the traffic was much heavier and the lanes opened out sometimes to three and the speed picked up. We were now in
Queensland. Less speed warnings and people seemed happier to break the limit by 10kms or so. I've decided I'm going to like it in this State

By the time we reached Brisbane it was really bucketing down - torrential rain - that made it quite difficult to drive. A short drive for the centre of town didnt show us many exciting sights so we decided to turn in for the night. We'll do a Bribane walkabout tomorrow

A nice night's rest after a long drive.
