Planes, trains and automobiles (not)

. You just never know – at least they know me and my face. It can never hurt to make a few more contacts in the world. I had a great response from people so we shall see. I was also very lucky to be able to cat sit for a friend of a friend who lived in Paddington (thanks Tash). This meant I had a whole one bedroom flat to myself – well I did have to share it with Hercules. Who rivaled Puss Puss on the 'who has the loudest Meow' front. It was great to chill out be on my own timetable, explore Paddington, sit in the botanical gardens by the opera house and watch a few crappy TV shows. Bliss! I think I have fallen in love with Sydney. I certainly did after having breakfast in Bronte with Lat, watching the dolphins play with the surfers and then walk the east coastal walk back to Coogee. However I am now in need of some serious detoxing after the significant volume of wine I have drunk in both Melbourne and Sydney. My Australia time has come to an end. 3 months later (and some serious cash spending) and I am off to Asia. I cannot believe it has come to an end, so quickly. I have had an amazing time in Australia – what a fabulous country. I certainly will be back at some point.
Back in lovely Sydney. It was a pleasure to arrive, especially after my 12 hour bus trip from Melbourne. Always seems like a good idea to go by bus when it is 50% of the cost of a flight however the act of doing it is always very painful. Especially when the bus is full and the driver has the temperature at 34 degrees. Hmm not sure I will be needing my sleeping bag after all. Turned up in Sydney and it was raining. A lot. Never mind. That is the beauty of cabs! I was, again, very luck to stay with friends (thanks Alex) in Coogee beach. What a fabulous place to live, right by the ocean. I also caught up with Anna and Jason and had a great night out in Darling Harbour. There is something about sitting in a bar with the front opening out onto the harbour which is just great. Even in winter. I spent a few days running around Sydney – getting to know it well (and the public transport) as I had meetings with various different companies. Main point of this was to do a little networking in case I decided I want to come back next year
