There is a wildlife loop in the Custer State Park on which a huge herd of buffalo were hanging out.  You can travel in your car which we did some but we also wanted to go where the general public didn't know about/were allowed to go.  We bought a jeep tour and had a lot of fun.  The driver took us on some backroads going rather fast and thrilling the boys.  In addition to the buffalo there were antelope, prong horns and mule deer.  The scenery is just beyond words.
