Yay, kept ahead of the cold front from Canada that brought rain to the north of I-40 and big, old, dark clouds overhead. I avoided the threat of gusty 40 mph winds. And the route to the east of OKC is more like New England with hillier, forested terrain and real rivers and lakes, so the north winds were not as bad as yesterday's gusts.
This is farming country and looks like fall colors would have been beautiful. I saw the Ozarks in the distance and thought about riding further to Little Rock (about 78 mi from here), but common sense said no. I watched too much bad weather forecasts last night to get a good restful sleep. So now that the front has arrived and the temps will drop (funny they are in the high 60s now), I will just be riding in them, not trying to stay ahead of the system.
Russellville is a good sized town and has a nice campus I drove by (AK Tech University).
Hmm, haven't been here long, and just looked out the lobby window to see that it's raining. Good call to stop when I did, hate unloading the bike in rain.
