Welcome to Vlogabond's home on TravelPod.com! As this is our first post, we just wanted to introduce our travel videoblog to you.

Our names our Dan and Justin, and we are the creators, producers and hosts of this travel videoblog. A travel videoblog is the same as a normal travel blog you find here, except that video is the main content. Vlogabond will will focus on capturing the highlights of backpacking abroad, beginning with a 6 month journey through Asia.

Filmed, edited, and posted biweekly throughout our travels, each episode will be a three-minute mini documentary covering our last few days of travel. We will not be neutral observers in the action. In sharing our experiences, our videoblog will be part destination guide, part reality TV and part adventure journalism.

Our adventures, captured on video, will explore the experiences of two 20-something backpackers traveling abroad. Immersing ourselves in the backpacker culture, we will live on a shoestring budget; we will eat locally, stay with host families or in youth hostels, and embark on wild adventures. Bringing our unique experience back to the viewers at home will be our priority and goal.

The overarching theme of our travels is that community stretches beyond one's neighborhood streets, and that the Internet is an incredible tool to bring the world closer together. In producing the travel vlog, we hope to expose their contemporaries to new cultures, ideas, and ways of living. On the other side of the coin, we hope to emphasize that living in an interconnected world means that problems in countries on the other side of the world can often affect you and I here in the States.
