We have survived 2 grey/cold winter months and totally hanging out for some sunshine and summer!
Well it certainly is great to be back living in the Western World even if the English cannot understand my vowel pronunciation and dont know what chips, glad wrap and marshmellow easter eggs are! I have more than once embarassed myself asking or telling people about my or their pants (which they think im referring to undies) and have chuckled when the floor also includes concrete and grass?
England is a little similar to NZ but quite different too. Everything is older, bigger, more crammed with more people and underground tubes, less green-ness and sunshine, more warm beer, crisps (potato chips), pies, sausages.
We finally settled into our own flat in Vauxhall - just south of the Thames and not too far from the Queen! We have our local on the corner called the Beehive and into the swing of Tescos, Sainsburys and Marks and Spensers shopping. I have oogled over the food at Harrods and Borough Markets and seen the 'Changing of the Guards' at Buckinham Palace, Westminister Abbey, Big Ben, London Bridge.
We have joined in on the Kiwi Waitangi Day, Circle Pub Crawl, Dan joined in on the mass huka display in Trafalger Square.
