Toatlly hassel free boarder crossing which was good. Problem was we (all tourists) still had no idea what was going on! When the slow boat was leaving, where it was leaving from etc. We got hearded up the road and told we needed to pre-purchase accomodation ticket for Pak Bang the town we would be stopping overnight at. A little hard to believe but we went with it. Cost 250B each which is the most expensive accomodation we have had so far by a mile! We were expecting a goodie here!
They jam packed us onto trucks and drove us about 1km to the dock of the slow boats. finally told that we had 2 hours to wait till the boat departed. The boat was a little like i had imagined. Long and low, made of wood, no windows and all wooden benches inside. Once there were way too many people for seats packed in we departed at 11.20am for a day of cruising the Mekong River.
