I cant actually believe we made it to this little boarder town alive. We took a big bus that cornered like crazy. Every time we turned a more angled corner the whole bus leaned and felt like it would fall over. We couldnt work out if it was the driving or the bus itself. 5 hours and we made it from Chinag Mai. As we booked a package tour all the way to Luang Prabang in Laos we had our accomodation there already sorted. The place we stayed was the Boom hostel. It was small and very simple but ok for the night. The tour appeared to us a bit of an unorganised shambles as we (and others on the same tour) had no idea what the story was - when the boat was leaving ect, how we crossed the boarder, visas etc. Somehow it all sorted out!
We had a very quiet and early night as we were feeling a bit worse for wear after our last night in Chiang Mai on the Samsung Wiskey Buckets and clubbing!
Another early start the next day. Breakfast at 8am and were picked up from the restaurant at 9pm and taken to the Thai boarder and thankfully given our passports back with the Lao visa stamped inside. It was only a quick fast boat ride accross the river to the Lao passport control to officially be stamped into Lao. It really didnt seam any different to Thailand at this stage.
