Its good to be back in Thailand! Had a bumpy 1hr flight in from Siem Reap, landed safely and found the cheapest way into Koh Sarn Rd was by the bus for 100B. I managed to find Jo and Pie sitting outside a bar opposite McD's where we arranged. So great to see them! We didnt get up to much at all in Bangkok. Saw no sights just chiled out and ate and drank and slept really. We did a mini pub crawl for drinks and dinner. Pie has already got a new nickname set from a young boy selling candy around the restaurants to make money for schooling. He took one look a Pie sitting with Jo and I and as he sat down to give his sell he said to Pie "Hey, You lady boy!" followed by a high five and laugh. Its stuck - Pie is now the Lady Boy! After maybe one too many Changs we decided that they bugs sold on Koh San looked pretty tasty and tryed fried Grasshopper! Not too bad and very crunchy! I couldnt quite bring myself to eat the head though.
Stayed at a place away from Koh San Rd called the Sawadee Guesthouse. Pretty basic but passable and only 130B each a night.
My ear was still blocked after a week of travel so I had to go see the Dr. Good news is that im back on track to it healing. Turns out I had an ear infection - ear drained and im on another course of antibiotics and drops so a break from cold Changs for me for the next week. Last night Pie and Jo had Chang and I enjoyed a cold Milo!
We spent a bit of time in between the catching up trying to organise our escape from Bangkok. General plan is to head north to Ayutthaya for a night then maybe to Lopburi, Sukhothai and onto Chang Mai. Plan to spend around 12ish days in Thailand.
All in all, its good to be back but looking forward to getting out of Bangkok. First thai dinner was entree of Thai style steamed mussels with dipping sauce followed by my fav, Chicken Red Curry!
