We awoke around Cleveland, Ohio this morning to find we were quite a bit behind schedule. Apparently we had engine trouble last night and were stopped for 2 ½ hours! I must have slept right through it because I sure didn't remember being stopped for that long at any time. We went to breakfast about 6:30 am and by the time we got back, our beds were made and the car was set up for daytime. We had passed through this area of the route in the dark while going Eastward so we were into new territory for viewing sights. We enjoyed some morning views of Ohio farm country and some, here and there, peeks of the Great Lakes. We didn’t see as much water as I thought we would though, especially with being on “The Lake Shore Limited”. The flat expanse of croplands and the farm homes and barns reminded me of Iowa. The corn crops looked great and were well above the standard of “knee high by the 4th of July”, as my Grampa used to say it should be. It was a beautiful sunny morning..
Breakfast: decaf coffee, cranberry juice, ½ grapefruit, oatmeal, biscuit, and peach yogurt. Larry had orange juice, coffee and French toast.
Breakfast companions: Two ladies - one traveling to Los Angeles and one traveling to Seattle.
