The day was very relaxed...  to the point that many of us went on a couple of hikes!  Mitchell, Jessica's dad, took some of the wedding guests on a hike, but Larry and I went on our own, thinking we'd take an easier trail.  We went up to a bluff overlooking the Atlantic, enjoyed the view and hiked down a different trail. It was great and the view was amazing, of course.  The weather was very warm and sunny.  What a beautiful day for a wedding on an island.

Jessica and the bridesmaids were having their hair done by a young man who came over to the Island from the main land to do the job for them.  And Drew spent his time finishing up getting electricity to the house where the wedding was going to take place and doing other odds and ends.

The "Beck House" (owned by the Beck Family), which was the wedding site, did not have electricity. There was a generator but it was too loud.  So, many extension cords were brought to the island and/or borrowed from neighbors and the cords were run from a house down the road that did have service.  Eventually all came together and it worked out great.

As guests arrived, they were encouraged to write some special words for the bride and groom on a sash of fabric and then tie them to the Huppah. Cindy had done a great job putting together some pictures of everyone... and had them hanging for all to see.  There was a table with beautiful flowers, some lemonade and a basket with beautifully made programs for the wedding. The service went off without a hitch.  It was small and intimate, very loving and meaningful - and yet fun at the same time.  Adam did a wonderful job as officiant.  Afterwards, we all walked back to the Trailing Yew and had a beautiful buffet dinner, followed by dancing to pre-recorded music. What a great time!

With that, I'm just going to post a lot of pictures!

What a lovely wedding in such a unique place. It seems like your trip has been even more enjoyable that you imagined.

Have a great trip home, it will look different traveling east to west.
