I arrived in Dresden at about 11am…the bus ride from Berlin was only about 2.5 hrs. The first day there a group of us headed into town for some sight seeing. Dresden is a nice little town with soooo many old buildings…which I thought was amazing. We walked around a little and then went to the Thertre platz which had an amazing museum with incredible art (a must visit)…absolutely amazing. From there we walked around a little a saw the Art gallery, church, Furstenzug (which is a massive tiled mural on a wall). After the caffe' we all headed back to the hostel to get some rest. That night my friends and I from my dorm headed to the local supermarket and made some dinner…MMm it was a feast.
The next day I woke up and headed into town with one of my friends that was in the same dorm as I
After breakfast we then headed into a small town named Meissen which was about a half an hour train ride. Meissen is a really lovely town situation on a hilly wine region. We walked around and visited a few touristy places and tried out the wine there. Meissen is meant to be famous for their Porcelain so at the end of the day we made our way to the porcelain factory. We didn’t get to go in because we got there pretty late and said it wont be worth us going in as we wont get to see everything. We wondered around the museum and the store. The porcelain they make pretty cool and extremely expensive. After the porcelain museum we then caught a train back into Dresden and back to the hostel where we finished off the massive feast we cooked up the night before. The next morning I did my packing and grabbed some breakfast and waited for my bus to Prague.
Dresden is a nice relaxing little town...not a lot to do there but well worth a visit.
