From Bedford we made our way further west to Solihull where Barloworld Optimus had their offices (this is the company we used to work for) to meet some colleagues for lunch. The drive to Solihull was beautiful and we were lucky that the notoriously bad English weather was taking a short break. The road was lined with green pastures, forests and the occasional English manor. Without much effort we arrived at the office only making use of some printed Google maps directions that were surprisingly accurate since the office was literally in the middle of nowhere.

We were quite surprised when we arrived at the offices and ran into Ellena who used to work in Inge-Marie's team in South Africa, she had since relocated to the UK with her husband and now called England home. We were also surprised to find out that joining us for lunch was our sales director, John van Wyk who had also relocated from South Africa and was now based in the UK. We had a lovely lunch at a little up-market country styled restaurant and it was great being able to catch up with Richard and John and hearing about their experience in the wet lands. And like our meeting with Frank in Madrid we thoroughly enjoyed chatting about work and what the company was up to in our absence, it kind of got us all excited about returning again. Oh, almost forgot, I enjoyed my second traditional English meal here; beer battered fish, chips and mashed minted peas, with a Guinness of course delicious!
