IMH: I captured this very frustrated one-sided conversation with Ryan on the phone to probably the 10th resort in Ko Lipe, Thailand struggling to book accommodation via Skype (internet phone) as you cannot book on the internet with immediate confirmation. I was in stitches, which aggravated the situation even more, but I just couldn't help it.
This is what I overheard Ryan say to the person on the other end:
1. "Good Day, I would like to enquire about accommodation... a room?"
2. "You are hotel?"
3. "You have room Thursday, Friday and Saturday?"
4. " You are hotel? Or not?"
5. "No, no Thai, only English. You have room Thursday, Friday and Saturday? That is 3, 4 , 5 April?"
6. " No, no Thai... you have room?"
7. "You are hotel?"
8. "OK, good! Can I make reservation? Book the room"
9. "Yes, I have name - Ryan. You asking my name?"
10. "No...sigh...do you have room Thursday, Friday and Saturday?"
11. "Is there maybe someone who can speak English I can ask about room?"
12. "Yes, I hear you only little English"
13. "Can somebody speak more English?"
14. "No, I have no number, I'm calling from computer. Should I call back?"
15. "I call back, you can't call me, what time?"
16. "I call back - you have available room?"
17. "Hmph...she hung-up on me..."
