Where I stayed
Esna and Jim were both able to take a few days off work during our visit so we decided spend a few nights up the Sunshine Coast at little town called Mooloolaba. It's one of many little coastal towns along the Sunshine Coast with warm ocean water and endless beaches, a perfect holiday destinations.
The day we arrived the weather was great, calm blue skies with little wind. Soon that all changed when a massive thunder storm moved over the area, it was like watching a scene from the movie Independence Day. The sky turned dark grey and within minutes the wind picked up and the rain came belting down. As quickly as it arrived it drifted off to sea. Wow!! What a show. Not long after we were treated to a fantastic sunset and a distant lightning show.
The next day was spent lazing on the beach and body surfing, which I must say I was getting pretty good at. Next time might upgrade to a Boogie Board or Shark Biscuit as the Ausies call it.
On the way back to Brisbane we stopped off in a little town perched on top of a mountain called Montrose for a walk through town. The town was filled with all sorts of little boutique stores and seemed to have a big German influence. The views from some of the restaurants were spectacular and a great time was had by all.
