To break the trip between Sydney and Brisbane we spent the night somewhere halfway between the two which happened to be a little town called Coffs Harbour. The town is predominantly know for its sea port and is the biggest town in the NSW banana growing area. Just outside of town is the Big Banana. We skipped this icon and decided to have a light dinner and enjoy the sunset with a bottle of wine on the beach.

Our accommodation for the night was located right on the beach and called Hoey Moey Backpackers and as the name suggests is a backpackers but also has a few motel rooms which were slightly more expensive than the backpackers. We decided to upgrade and go for the better room so as to ensure a good nights sleep before the long trip the next day, it didn't quite work out as planned.
Our next door neighbour who coincidentally was the duty manager of the facility decided to have a rock concert in his room or so it sounded. This only lasted till just before 11pm when he finally decided that the real live band playing in the bar which was a few meters away near the main reception was more fun. The band in the bar thumped away till way after 1am till we were able to get some much needed sleep. That is till just after 4am when our neighbour's visitors arrived and were determined to get into his room. His two lady guests knocked on his door for the better part of an hour, I guess the jugs of rum and coke I saw him packing away earlier put him into a deep slumber. Thank goodness we could not hear the snoring.
The next morning we were up early and set off to Brisbane all red eyed. (Note to self, ask when booking if the establishment offers live entertainment, if so say no)
