Wagga, Twice the surprise

A short drive (short in distance, long in driving time) North East of Melbourne is a town called Wagga Wagga (or simply pronounced Wogga) where we caught-up with some old friends from South Africa -Gavin, Chantell and their beautiful little boy Kyle (aged 4). Gavin and I have been friends for 32 years and he and his wife were gracious enough to put us up for the weekend in 5 star luxury.
We were waited on hand and foot - with treats like homemade rusks (of which Chantell packed us a take-away when we left), bacon & eggs for breakfast, to three course meals from snacks to delicious fruit salad and Dom Pedro's. We were also treated to half a fridge of space to store our "on-route" condiments/goodies ( which we stocked-up on in Adelaide and plan to travel with and consume on-route to Cairns) and on top of that we did a free load of washing and drying.
What a wonderful weekend! It was great catching-up with my old friend and we had many great conversations recalling the past over some great Australian wine. We were introduced to some of their special friends and attended a touching sermon at the Wagga Wagga Evangelical Church. We also now know who the "Wiggles" are (if you don't have kids, you probably wouldn't know either). It's going to be very difficult to get back on the road after being so spoilt! Thanks very much to the both of you to the wonderful time we had, we thoroughly enjoyed it and would love to be able to repay the favour some day. It's so nice to have such good friends across the world. Especially for so long! Good luck on the road in the future.
