Well here we are, in the final destination of our trip through South America. We spent most of yesterday on the road driving from Puno to La Paz stopping along the way at some Tiawanaki ruins (pre inca). We arrived in La Paz in the late afternoon. It is a beautiful city in the valley between snow capped montains. We are still at elevation but are no longer feeling the effects (except for walking up long flights of stairs). We had our last group meal last night before saying our goodbyes. Richard left this morning at 4am to fly back to Canada while Gina and I are leaving on Tuesday.
La Paz is a very dangerous city...for shopping. Everything is so rediculously cheap that you have to hold back. Meals are so cheap too, Gina and I ate a good meal tonight that cost us $7US for both of us. One of the interesting places we visited was the witch market which sell a wide variety of dead animals such as llama fetusus, stuffed armadillos and frogs. All have some sort of folklore behind them.
Tomorrow we are supposed to go mountain biking down the world´s most dangerous road but we shall see if it happens. We made our reservations and paid the company but apperently they did not recieve our payment so they cancelled the reservation late today. I did manage to get a hold of the guy and as it stands we are supposed to go tomorrow.
Oilers win series tonight.
