Hello all,

We are back from our adventures out in Lake Titicaca and what a great time it was. Yesterday morning we boarded a boat in the port of Puno and headed out to visit some of the islands in the Lake. Our first stop was Tequile Island where we had lunch and visited the island. After lunch we headed to Amantani Island were we met our host families for the evening and headed off with them. Though the main language on the island is Chechua, most spoke spanish so communication was not an issue. We had a nice room in the upper floor of the house with three beds and pleanty of blankets. The electricity was provided by solar panels as there is no power on the island. Most of the buildings were made of mud brick. I took the chance to play soccer with the locals while Richard and Gina went climbed to the top of a hill to watch the sunset. After soccer we ate supper with our host families and then got dressed up in traditional clothing to go out to a folk dance with our families. For the guys it was easy, a poncho and a toque. For the ladies it was a little more complicated. I will post pictures of Gina and how cute she looked when I get a chance. This morning we had breakfast with our host families before saying goodbye. I bought my toque from my family as it is pretty awesome. We then visited some reed islands where people live. It is kind of different as they live on giant floating reed islands with housing and all made of reeds. This afternoon we visited some pre-inca ruins. Tomorrow morning we are up early as we head to La Paz, Bolivia.

Goodbye from Peru
