We landed safely in San Francisco after getting a few hours of sleep on the flight over (Gina more so than me). Once on the ground we got in line and waited, and waited, and waited... It took us 2.5 hours to clear customs and immigration as the line was moving excruciatingly slow as three planes landed at roughly the same time with the other two being from china and Korea. The other thing I didn't realize was that people who did not hold Canadian or American passports had to have their pictures and finger prints taken at immigration which really slowed the process. We were initially banking on having 6 hours of free time and heading into the city but once everything was done we were down to 4 hours and a decision to make. If we were to head downtown we probably would only have 2-3 hours to walk around so we decided against it. We found some food for lunch and had a lazy afternoon listening to CNN coverage of the east coast and sleeping in the most uncomfortable seats in the world. I resorted to using the floor at one point. We are about to get more food and go wait at the gate for our flight to Edmonton. It is always hard leaving but once you are gone you want the trip back to be over as quickly as possible. Looking forward to seeing everyone at home. Athabasca much later tonight and Fort McMurray tomorrow. Also looking forward to October 30th being over, it will have lasted 43 hours when all is done.
