We checked out of our room and made our way back to the main highway. We drove back toward Sydney before turning north and heading to Manly and the beaches on the north shore of Sydney
. The beaches were nice except it was very windy making it cold and the surf was very high so you couldn't swim. We walked around but you couldn't really lay and relax. We managed to find our hotel using only the crappy map that the rental company had give us and a google maps picture that was in our tour package which I thought was very impressive. After checking in we drove down to the Manly wharf and walked around for a bit before going for Indian food for supper which was excellent.
We have an early morning tomorrow as we need to drive through Sydney on our way to the airport so that we can catch our flight to Uluru (Ayres Rock). It was only 38 degrees there two days ago... Outback here we come!
I woke up early (daylight savings included!) and decided that I should go for a run since I haven't run since we left Canada. It was probably 4 degrees but at least the rain from the previous day cleared up. I decided to run the road that lead down the the valley to the caves. Nothing like 8k straight uphill to get you back into it. The 8k back down was pretty fun though. Along the way I ran into many kangaroo who were along the side of the road. They took off pretty quickly when they saw me coming, I was very surprised to see how fast they could move along the side of the cliffs. While I was running Gina went out in search of the platypus again. She managed to find two this time but again no good pictures.
