Today we had an hour kung fu lesson at one of the local academies. We learned a basic movement routine. The master said we were fast learners but the movements also worked muscles that none of us knew that we had. Following the kung fu we took a high speed train to Xi'an from where I write. Tomorow is terricotta warriors. Gina and I are doing well, I caught a minor cold but am working through it very quickly. Hope everyone is well at home.

The overnight train was an interesting experience but we made it through without a problem. From Luoyang we drove to the Shaolin Temple which is the home of kung fu. The temple itself is still a very sacred buddidst site but it is surrounded by kung fu academies similar to our sport schools where parents send their kids and they live at the school mastering the art. We went to a show in the evening that was highly regarded but to us was kind of slow. It had the biggest stage I had ever see and hundreds of performers on at once but Buddism dosen't really scream action. The best part to me was at one point they had a herd of goats as part of the show. I am not talking 10 or 15 goats but more like 50 or 60, I was sure there was going to be kaos that ensued but they all followed the leader and the show went on.
