After many long hours on the plane we finally landed in Cape Town on time yesterday morning.  After clearing immigration and getting some money we made it to our condo that we are renting and got checked in. It is a very nice place right on the water front near the main tourist district in Cape Town so it is very close to restaurants and groceries.  Today we took our rental car out for a drive to Hermanus on the coast to go whale watching.  Apparently this is one of the few places on earth where you can see whale from shore and we were not disappointed.  We weren't expecting much, the water was rough and the wind was blowing pretty hard but sure enough, within 5 minutes of walking along the waters edge we spotted two.  We spent most of the afternoon watching them swim around the bay including a few breaching out of the water.  Gina has some good pictures.  Tonight we are off to bed as we head out early to Gansbaai in the morning for some shark diving.

Glad to here you made it and that it is all that you expected plus more!
I would have loved to see the whales. I will look forward to the pictures.

Try not to become shark bait tomorrow!

Glad to hear you are there safe and sound. Nothing but rain here so hope your weather is better. Glad that the whales put on a show for you. Long way to go not to see any!! Be careful driving over there and have lots of fun.

Bon 27e anniversaire André. You do it with style. How long will you be gone. I'm off to Penticton to compete in our final Dragon Boat Festival of the season. Hopefully we'll bring back our 5th gold. Stay healthy, stay safe, ENJOY
