Where I stayed
Today we set off to the east to check out Tanjung Aan, a popular beach on the east side. As we were approaching, we realized there were no tourists on the beach and 20 locals so we were completely outnumbered and would probably be chased down the beach until we bought something, so we decided not to stop. Then we tried Segar Beach and were finally able to hide from being spotted by a local. It sounds sad and crazy but you get really used to it. Travis hid our motorbike behind this big bush and we were able to swim and hang out for about an hour (definitely some kind of record) before being spotted, hurray!
Then we went to have lunch at Ashtari Café and get some work done up there while enjoying the majestic view.
Later Travis went to play volleyball with the locals while I stayed behind to watch a movie. He played for like an hour and a half and apparently became one of the locals (one of the few that actually spoke English told him that, LOL he loved it). Though he couldn't communicate with them much at all they all really seem to appreciate the fact that he plays with them and they all wanted him on their team. He was even able to arrange transport for tomorrow to the north end of the island with one of the friends he made for a really cheap price. Travis is sad to go cause he wants to hang out with the locals and play volleyball every day.
