We got up early this morning to pack up, have breakfast, and check out. We were a little sad to leave because we had had such a great time here and we were getting such a good deal for only $12 a night. But we have much more to see in Bali and we want to get over to Lombok (another island near Bali). We started off with a pretty rocky ride back to Sanur (port in Bali) which was wet and fun. Next, we caught a bus that would take us to Padangbai where we were expecting to spend the next few nights before going to Lombok. As we were traveling, we realized that this bus was passing through Ubud one of the places we wanted to go. So we decided to ask for a stopover (which are free with this company) before heading to Padangbai to save some transportation money later.

When we got to Ubud, it was raining pretty hard. We sat in the Perama Office for a while trying to figure out where we were going to stay. Right when we decide to put on our ponchos over ourselves and our packs and walk around to check things out, it starts raining SOO hard. We made it about 50 ft and then ran into a restaurant where we waited for a taxi.

After getting soaked from head to toe, we get into a taxi and he offers us to stay in a room with his family for about $10 a night. We knew it would be crazy to find a place in this kind of rain so Travis got out with the guy to check it out and we decided to take it.

This place is what you would call a homestay…pretty much we are staying in someone's house. We have a room upstairs with a pretty nice view. We are not sure if we will stay here both nights, but it will do for now.

After the rain settled, we got to walk around get some really yummy food (Travis’ favorite meal so far) and go through the market. There is so much beautiful art and stuff to buy, I wish we had roomL.  We got to see the Ubud Palace which is where the royal family still lives, it was nothing special though.  Ubud is a lot more touristy than we expected but it is absolutely gorgeous and green with beautiful rice paddies.

Tonight we are hoping to go to a restaurant that has free WIFI so that we can upload some pictures. We have had pretty limited access to internet and this would be one of the best places to do it.

Hopefully, if the rain stops tomorrow, we will be able to go throughout the city to see some of the famous sites.

Wondering if you all are safe. :)

Travis and Rosa are doing GREAT, I've been in touch just about everyday. The internet abilities are very limited, as they are in remote locations! Keep praying for them :) They're having lots of Great Adventures.
