Thought that I would 'save money' by flying up to Sweden to pick up our new Volvo and drive it back to Vienna. In Gotteborg, Sweden's second largest city, I was given the royal treatment by Volvo. They picked me up from the airport and drive me over to the factory. There, I met several other new Volvo owners who were about to enjoy a drive around Europe. (the factory delivery program is a great deal - especially for tourists who are given free R/T flights to Sweden and can drive their cars around for several weeks before having them shipped back to the States)

The factory was impressive - hundreds of robots that reminded me of Terminator 2 producing a very streamlined and automated assembly line. The film on Volvo safety convinced me that we had made the right choice - we have already been in Europe long enough to know that there are some CRAZY drivers here!

I spent the night in Sweden and drove down to Copenhagen in the morning.
