Our Monday ended with a flourish as we were encouraged by the shipment from Ukraine. We were kind of wanting to get something to eat, but felt that with our heightened spirits that we get some more mailing work done and so we worked for about two hours on the current mailing that we needed to get the PO ASAP.
It is so satisfying to see the envelope stuffed with all the good stuff. We put together 189 pieces of mail that all contained an English Good News. In addition there were two articles (by Jerry Aust and John Ross Schroeder) in ESTONIAN. Then there is a insert promo card for the Bible Study Course in Estonian. Then, for those on the Bible Study Course their correct in sequence lesson is enclosed. It's really a nice package. It represents so much good work from a team of people from Moscow to Tallinn, Tartu to Barbadows to New York State. The list of names is long. All the product of their work is in the flat-sized envelope that will be mailed out and will be impressed on the minds and hearts of those requesting it. I was so pleased how good this all looked.
We had all 12 stacks lessons of the spread out on Johnnie's work table. He has done such a tremendous job keeping this all going in spite of all the obstacles.
Here is some of what has to be done:
Checking the translation
Printing and collating
Preparing GN's with Estonian return address on card inside
We got most of the stuffing done and then went to the Chinese restaurant called the Tsink Plekk Pang. They really have some great food. We had hot spicy chicken soup and then a hot spicy beef dish with rice. It was called "Angry Cow." Hope it has nothing to do with Mad Cow.
We then went walking around town before walking back to the apartment. This is a great place for the Fall Festival. There are so many interesting little places to just walk around and see and walk into. The restaurants are charming and authentic.
We then finished the last part of the mailing which was to include an introduction letter to the new Bible Study Course subscribers. There were 24 of those. We banded all the mail together sorted by weight and will get it to the PO.
We're hoping to get the radio station manager and his wife and Jim Carlson to come to the apartment for dinner Wednesday night. I might have to make another fruit and veggie plate. Tomorrow we also have a 1:30 visit at the prison here in Tartu.
It's hard to get to sleep as I walk out on the deck in the apartment at 1:00 am and it's still twilight.
