We got on and arrived in Chicago JUST IN TIME to catch our overseas flight to London.  Our flight to Chicago was almost empty and I was hoping that the London flight would be, too.  Not so.  But, at the last second we were given bulkhead seats and had lots of legroom.
In London we changed to a British Airways flight to Budapest. It was almost two hours late getting off the ground again because of bad weather.  We finally arrived in Budapest and took the minibus to the Ibis Centrum Hotel right downtown.  A note from Cindy Harper was awaiting us saying that they had already gone to eat at a restaurant a few doors down.  We got checked in found the Dan and Cindy Harper at the Leroy Restaurant just as they had described in the note. They had been there just 15 minutes. Left aligned photo tag:
We really had a wonderful get-acquainted time with both of them and were favorably impressed how up to speed they were to working with others and with a lot of good information about Ukraine. I can tell that they will really do well in what we hope to do in Ukraine. They will live in France for the next four years and Ukraine is relatively close to them. Cindy has a Masters Degree in English and this will fit well with our proposed English as a Second Language or English as a Foreign Language Program for Ukraine. She already knew a lot of Ukrainian (not Russian) words and was very much caught up on our Vinogradov Street Children's Program that we had started in 2001. How time flies.   We've been running it for seven years now!
Dan and Cindy have been looking to do something to help people in a realistic way that was practical and would leave an impact.  In Ukraine we also have our LifeNets computer schools where Dan can be of help, but I'm beginning to think that Dan and Cindy working together with the Vinogradov kids may be the best bet.  We'll see.  As mentioned in an earlier post Cindy did a phenomenal job in the 2003 ABC Fundraiser for the LifeNets Developing Nations Scholarship Program.
We had a nice Hungarian meal and conversation was great.  I can tell that this is all going to work well.
Our train on Tuesday morning leaves at 10:20 AM and we should arrive in Chop, Ukraine about 5:00 PM .  We have a one hour time change when we cross over to Ukraine.
So far so good!  Tomorrow (Tuesday) to Ukraine!!

Cindy and Dan
Hello Bev and Vic,
Glad you made your connection in London! And wow am I surprised that Dan and Cindy are in France for 4 years! I thought that they were still in Augusta,Georgia. It is wonderful that there is the possibility that they can work with the Vinogradov kids. I really hope that you get to see Elsa Doh's parents and K paw and Tee Hser Thaw Gay in Norway. Margaret and Klo Doh tell me that Davidson Leh Bey and his family are now in England and hope to go to Norway soon to visit with K paw and Tee Hser. It would be nice if when you are in Norway if you could get together with K paw and Elsa's parents at the same location. It would be icing on the cake if Davidson and his family could make a trip to Norway from England at the same time that you and Bev are in Norway!

Vic and Bev,

So glad you made your London connection and that things are going well so far. The weather here is still really cold, but no more precipitation for the moment.
