It is a real pleasure visiting and staying with Paul and Kira Spenser in their town of Mjolby which has a population of 25,000. They moved into their new home about five months ago. It has three levels and is just right for a growing family. We have been spending lots of time on the porch facing a yard with a lawn.
We had a long breakfast of that allowed us to talk and plan our Good News seminar. I'll be speaking about my travels to Chernobyl and my latest trip there from which we are returning. In the invitation letter sent out to Good News readers in Sweden the subject of our involvement with Chernobyl was mentioned first. I plan to show about 20 minutes of PowerPoint slides, then go to the issues of world security and how we can know what future will bring.
In the morning Kira and I worked on the signs for the venue which is in the Tinghus, which is the former courthouse
Our luggage arrived mid-morning. We were glad.
Then Paul and Kira's parents Thorsten and Marion Engholm came by and we all went sightseeing. Bev and I are very happy to see parts of historic Sweden close to the southern tip of Sweden's second largest lake called Vatten.
First, we went to an ancient Viking Rune Stone call Roksten. On it is inscribed a story that a father wrote about his dead son.
Then we saw a woman's monastery built by the French in the 12th century. From there to a castle built by Gustavus the First in the 1500's and finally a noted Church in Vadstena built by Catholics that is now Lutheran. The Lutheran Church is the official State Church, but it has the air and trappings of the Catholic Church.
At 3:30 pm Solveig Hammar arrived from Stockholm on a bus to spend the weekend with all of us
Solveig Hammar, Paul and Kira Spenser are very devoted to doing things for preaching the gospel in Sweden. Solveig and Kira have translated the booklets The Road to Eternal Life, What is Your Destiny and The Gospel of the Kingdom. All 12 lessons of the Bible Study have also been translated but still need editing and formatting to become print-ready. I admire the desire of these people far away from the greater body of the Church physically who want to do a greater part in disseminating the Word. Paul and Kira want to launch campaigns to put out flyers and actively advertise the new publications in the Swedish language. We are all praying that God will bless their efforts and bring people to repentance and conversion.

. It's been so relaxing to just visit and enjoy each other's company. Solveig comes down about every six weeks to share the Sabbath with the Spensers.
