We are really enjoying spending our time with Paul and Kira as well as Solveig Hammar who came down from Stockholm yesterday. Today, we just took it easy around the house and around town.

In the morning Paul and I discussed out Good News seminar tomorrow and setup for the literature display, video camera and mp3 recorder. We worked on the introductions and what information about the Church should be mentioned. We are excited about the event that we had hoped to hold here in Sweden for some time now. We are happy that we will be having printed material and a website ready just around the corner and we are hopeful that on future travel to Estonia and Finland we can make Sweden a regular stop.

It's a big holiday today-they say bigger than Xmas in the Germany A Mjölby building
A Mjölby building
. It is the midsummer holiday when the entire nation takes off a long weekend just after the summer solstice. People get dressed up in native costumes. Bands play and the parks are full.

We went out for a stroll in town. First we went by the home of Kira's uncle. He is a member of Rotary Club, but club does not meet during the days when we are here. I try to visit Rotary Clubs along my travels, but this time around I missed in both Estonia, Ukraine and now Sweden. Kira's uncle and family were just on their way out to the city celebration. We headed in that direction, too.

We came to what looked like a park, but it was a place with old restored buildings as they would have been a few hundred years ago. A band was playing, children were running. Some children were dressed up in costumes and a number had garlands on their heads. It was interesting seeing something I had not seen before.

We stayed here about an hour before slowly working our way back to the Spenser's home.

Sunset is so late and even after sunset the twilight lasts for hours. Sunset here is 10:30 PM. We sat down to dinner at 9:00 and it seemed no later than 6:00 to us.

While here, I've had telephone conversations with people who formerly were with the Worldwide Church of God who just wanted to talk again. We'll be seeing some of them on the Sabbath at the Seminar.
