Punta Arenas was another tender port with wheel chairs discouraged so DH stayed on board while Mom and I went ashore. Being there on Christmas Day was odd, no locals were on the streets, everyone was cozy at home with their families. It was cold and windy, even thought it is technically summer but it was not raining. There was not  much to see, the town was clean and lovely from the dock to the main square but once we ventured a bit further the town became dirtier and poorer.
There was much action around the main square as the local artisans were set up in their booths selling their lovely work. There was a lot of handmade knitted and crocheted hats, scarves and gloves. The yarn was local and handspun too.
There are several lovely homes around the square, apparently they were built for the original founders.
Back to the ship and we thoroughly enjoyed our Christmas turkey dinners.
