Not much to say here.  We started off the morning with breakfast.  Zoe had some scrambled eggs, sausage, a piece of Mommy's pork chop and some of Auntie's swedish pancakes.  Then off to pump some gas and to the GF (or Flea Market - I kept calling it the flea market all day - irritating) we went!

Trying to get to the parking is never fun.  I definitely wore the wrong shoes that day and paid for it for several days after.  We parked in the normal empty, dirt field and walked down the hill to the entrance.  We came in the back way somehow and found the Martinez clan.  Plopped down to cool down.  It was not as hot as it was last year, but still very warm.  When Tina came back from the kiddie section, we went for a walk to grab some food.  Even though I was not completely hungry.  We did just eat breakfast, but I was ready for the food to begin.  Julie pretty much stayed at home base.  Grandma took Zoe to the kiddie section and Tina and I ate, talked with Aunts and Uncles.  In attendance:  Uncle Ruben, Matt & Amanda, Uncle Joey & Aunt Mimi and a small bunch from her side of the family.  Uncle Sam & his Julie, Uncle Joel, Tina, Angelica & Vanessa (Maria's daughter), Aunt Egla, Aunt Elda, Uncle Cris, Linda, Cecilia and BOTH OF THEIR BOYFRIENDS!!! Oh yeah and Yvette and Anthony, plus us, obviously.  After a while, the uncles - minus uncle Sam - took off to go buy the gross foods, like frog and snake and kangaroo or whatever gross foods they might have.  When they got back, I took off with Tina, Vanessa, Angelica, Matt and Anthongy to the kiddie section to help out Grandma with Zoe.  Grandma's face was ALL RED from running around with the girl.  SO Tina & I pitched in to buy tickets and they went on the kiddie rides with Zoe.  She had a good time and of course, wanted to go on AGAIN, AGAIN.  After we convinced/bribed her to go and watch a show we sat for a bit to watch Vanessa go onstage to talk to a vantriloquist (sp?) and then to be a Tucan when they were singing a song about animals in the jungle.  She came out with a lovely CAW-CAW and won 2 all-day ride passes for Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk.  After the show, we went back to home base.  Everyone was already leaving.  I was taking Tina & Vanessa back to Berkeley that night after picking up Bo from home.  So we went around to buy food for people - gotta love those Peppersteaks!!  Then took what seemed like a 2-hour walk back to the parking lot.  So that was it for the 2008 Garlic Festival.  My next trip will all be about our trip to Seacliff Beach this Saturday.  OH YEAH and by the way - you probably already found out what my surprise was - so I include pictures of that for you too!!

Not a teacup
Yes, Chica was the surprise. She was the runt. Not a teacup. The mother was about the size of Sole. Same look, just floppy ears and reddish brown instead of tan. Not sure about the dad. The dad was a chihuahua.
