It was one of the boxes I was determined to tick while I was away (rafting, diving, and sky diving all ticked now!) and had been recommended that Mission Beach was a great place to do it as the great view of rainforest, beach, and reef below gave you something to look at at least while hurtling at great speed towards the ground!!!!!
I got talked into going to 12000ft, which means freefall of 45 seconds - definitely wouldn't have wanted to go any longer, as I was just starting to think that that was enough as he pulled the chute and I was catapulted back up into the air!!!
Once the chute was pulled, it was amazing to have the time to look around and really take in the surroundings - seeing the reefs below, and all the islands. And it was such a clear day, so the ocean was an amazing colour!
Landing on the beach was really cool, and I was absolutely buzzing when I got down - the only problem was that because of the time difference I couldn't call anyone to go on about it - so it was a bit of an anticlimax!!! Unbelievable feeling though!
