Our bus for Copacabana picked us up from the Hostel at about 8am, but it was gone 9am before we actually made it out of La Paz!

We arrived at San Pedro de Tiquina around 11.15am. We all had to get off the bus and jump on a small motor boat to get to the other side of Lake Titticaca. The questions about the bus were soon answered when a rotting wooden barge pulled up to take our bus across separately. Once again we waved goodbye to our bags, expecting to be fishing them out the lake in about 15mins!

Surprisingly, the barge made it all the way across the river, but it was an hilarious thing to see. We jumped back on the bus and within an hour were in Copacabana and 3800 metres above sea level.

Lorna wasn't feeling 100% so we broke with normal protocol and grabbed a taxi to our hostel.
We had been recommended to go to this hostel - La Cupula - by a few people. It was a bit more expensive than our usual digs, but it was beautiful. The views over Lake Titticaca were magnificent.

We had a walk into town to locate the bus stop we need for Sunday's trip to Puno and to take a look around. I don't think Copacabana is as bad as a lot of people make out.

We went to the Hostal Colonial to grab some lunch, which was very nice and cheap as we sat in the sun.

We had a walk to the cathedral and took a look in all the little shops and even had a walk by the lake.
We even went through the meat market (no, not The Late Lounge in Mansfield), this place was humming. There were carcasses of animals everywhere and trotters all over the floor. Not a pretty sight. Glad we'd had lunch already.

We then had a walk back to the hostel and booked our boat trip to the Isla Del Sol for tomorrow. We leave at 8.30am for the North end of the Island and then get picked up in the South at 4pm. So a full day out tomorrow.

After this we slumped into two hammocks in the garden area of the hostel, overlooking Lake Titticaca. I just don't know how we cope sometimes!

We dined at the hostel restaurant this evening as it had a good reputation. I had Milanese Chicken and Lorna had Fillet Mignon. Very posh, but it was damn good grub.
Now this may come as a bit of a shock to you all, but Lorna struggled to finish her food!! I called in the medics and the psychologist's to find the cause of the problem, but to no avail. I am hoping she can make a full recovery for tomorrow!

We washed our food down with some beer & wine and got chatting to Margaret from Edinburgh who was travelling South America for 9 months. Some very interesting stories.
