It's a nice little port area and was where we were dropping off the Irish trio as they were heading further South. They were good to meet and we hope to catch up again in Rio in April.
In Puerto Montt there was a pretty big handicraft market. They sold just about anything here and it was dirt cheap!
Lorna wanted a hat and scarf for when we get to colder climates. She got herself an official tw*t hat first. Then she bought a new scarf!! Are her Mother's not good enough you have to ask!! She said that it was a different design and she was buying it to give her Mum some new ideas!! Blahdy blahdy blah!!
We ten headed off to a little café for some lunch. It was called Don Nelson's - sort of expected The Godfather serving my lunch - although, it was a seafood café so it would have been The Codfather!! Dad joke alert!!
Anyway, I had the Canato here, on Lorna's recommendation, and I have to say it was fantastic. I'm definitely going to get Lorna to cook this for me when I get back......yeah, that's right, I'm being all macho....I'm gonna get my wife to do it!!......I really hope she doesn't read this!!
We had a walk around the port area. It's nice here, but you can tell we have moved South of Santiago by over 1000kms as its a lot cooler.
We said our goodbye's to the Irish contingent, promising them a thrashing in the Six Nations, then we headed off to Puerto Varas.
We stopped at a place called 'Sweet Home' tonight, and it was literally someone's home. It was a nice place though and easy to chill in.
Lorna went for a walk with Kelly whilst I crashed in front of the TV for an hour.
In the evening we had dinner and drinks with a group of travelling Chilean's, which included drinking games, guitar playing and wall climbing. All good fun.
We had to say goodbye to most of the group tonight. Tomorrow there will only be Me & Lorna, Bob from the USA and a new arrival called Aaron from London. To be fair, this Aaron is a bit of a dick, so we shall probably just give him a miss. Bob has become a bit of a legend - he is 72 years old and is absolutely laden with stories. He also has a place in Buenos Aires and has told us to give him a call when we get there. Good stuff.
