We had a really brilliant day today. It's days like this that make travelling so worthwhile. You meet someone randomly, floating on a tube down a river, and then 4 months later you're at their Mum & Dad's house in Australia having a roast beef dinner!! Everlasting memories!

We got the 10.30 train to Port Noarlunga where Sarah's parents live. Sarah picked us up from the station and took us for a drive along the coast to get some stunning views.
We were then taken to the house where we met Sarah's parents - Gina & Les. They are such a lovely couple. We were made so welcome in their home - even though we had only just met. It was as though we'd known them for years.

Gina was originally from Liverpool & Les was from Kent. They moved to Convict Island 25 years ago - although they assure me that they weren't sent over as convicts!! Lol. Actually, they came over when Les got a 2 year contract over here......25 years later......!!

Gina is an absolute legend. She made us ham & chutney sandwiches for lunch - which we ate out on their veranda overlooking Port Noarlunga. She then drove the three of us around the McClaren Vale wineries. It was brilliant, we were wine tasting and eating olives and sampling cheese. The chilli olives were great. We bought a few bottles of wine to consume this evening.

We also visited Simon Hackett's Winery which was cool. Abby's mum was there and we got extra portions of wine to taste - grand! Got to say, the wine really is nice and we will definitely look out for it when we get back to the UK.

We then headed back to the house - via the heavenly oasis that is known as Dan Murphy's. Cheapest beer in Oz. A case of Toohey's Extra Dry was purchased. Amazingly, the drunken tarts bought another 6 bottles of wine to add to the ones they'd already bought!! It's gonna be an interesting evening.
We had a few beverages on the veranda and then headed down for the ultimate feed.

Roast beef, yorkshire pudding, roast potatoes, brussel sprouts, parsnips, peas, gravy.....oh dear, I'm slavering again!! It was absolutely exceptional - we stuffed ourselves silly!
We were then 'forced' - yes, honestly, 'forced'.....OK, we weren't forced at all.....we drooled over chocolate cake with cream AND ice cream!! Mmmmmmm. This was just too much for us to take! It was by far the best meal we have had on our travels!

There was only one way for a man to follow a dinner like that - Me & Les hit the sofa's to watch the cricket!! Grand.
The girls went up to the veranda to drink more wine and watch the sunset. I did pop up to see them once, but no sense could be made. They all are having different conversations at the same time and talking over each other - but somehow, they seem to know what each other was saying!! How do they do it?!! It just sounded like mumbling word chaos to me!
I couldn't work out how the hell they were breathing! I was only there 2 minutes and my ears began to bleed!
Back down to the beer and cricket for me!

Les is a right laugh as well. He was being very brave in front of Gina whilst we were there. I imagine he got his ass kicked when we left! Lol.

After everyone went to bed I stayed up and watched the Premier League on Foxtel. Wigan v Spurs was a bit drab, but the Man Utd v Chelsea game was pretty good. This finished about 4.30am, so I decided it was time for bed.

Also noticed that Forest won 2-0! Yet another win. So since we got rid of that Calderwood fool, we have won three out of three! Still squeaky bum time though.

Like I said, a fantastic day with a fantastic family. I hope one day we can return the favour if they come back to England.
