This morning I could some hot sausage baguettes - great start to any day.
Today we were off to see the start of the Sydney to Hobart Boat Race. This is about 100 yachts setting sail from Rose Bay in Sydney, down to Tasmania. Supposed to be an awesome sight.
Our info man had told us to go to Gap Park to get the best views, not to the harbour. This gave us a double bonus. We used our travel tickets to take the ferry to Watson's Bay and the ferry went right by the Harbour Bridge and the Opera House, so we got some great photo's.
The ferry was packed and we only just got on as this is a big event in Sydney. We got to Gap Park by about 12 noon and found a great spot on the cliffs. Because its a headland, we looked left over Sydney Harbour where we could see the start of the race, and looked right, over the ocean, as the yachts turned down to Tasmania.
The weather was fantastic and we got some awesome views.
The race started at 1pm and we stayed until about 2ish as the last of the boats went out of view. It was a fantastic sight seeing all the boats sailing out the harbour and then past us by the cliffs.
We got the bus back into town - these were all packed as well and they stopped people getting on - and went for a swim in our pool.
I then watched some of the Boxing Day Test Match between Australia & South Africa on the TV. It's played in Melbourne.
I'm looking forward to the two One Day Internationals that we've got tickets for - Lorna is not so enthusiastic!
