The journey started to deteriorate early on as the Christmas songs started to play on the radio. It could not have been pleasant for anyone who could hear us warbling out the full song of the Twelve Days of Christmas!!
There was also a very traumatic incident on the way. One of the big road trains, (big lorries that are twice as long as the ones you see in England!), had swerved and crashed up a banking blocking off most of the road. It had happened not long before we had got there. We think the driver was OK and everything, but the trauma kicked in upon recognition that this lorry was transporting BEER!! As we passed the accident and got a glimpse of the other side of the lorry, we could see broken beer bottles all over the road!!
How I didn't crash our van was a mystery.
Since the incident I have been finding it difficult to sleep at night without at least having a couple of beers in memory of the loss of our fellow bottled beauties! A hard time for everyone.
We eventually arrived at our van park, the Park Beach Tourist Park, and had some lunch.
We then went down to the beach for a few hours before heading back to the van for the evening. This park is mainly set up for families, but it's still OK for a couple of nights.
We sat and had a few beers & wine under the stars and contemplated the fact that we only had 5 more nights left in our van. We can't believe how fast it has gone! Mind you, it also means there's only 7 sleeps 'til Santa!!
