Today we set off for Surfers Paradise.
First we had a drive by both main stadiums in Brisbane, the Suncorp Stadium - home of the Queensland Roar & Brisbane Lions, and The Gabba - cricket stadium & home of Brisbane Reds.
We checked in at Main Beach Tourist Park, a short walk from the main hub of Surfers.
We then went into Surfers and and had a walk around the main town area. This is packed full of cafes and bars. Whilst down here we booked a surf lesson for tomorrow morning at 10am - so no late night tonight!
We then went down on the beach for a few hours. The waves here are great. We spent the afternoon bodyboarding & wave jumping. Many of the waves were much taller than me, it was wicked. Whilst bodyboarding though, Lorna seemed to keep losing her bikini bottoms! All you saw was a head floating along on a board, being chased by a pale white ass!! I just hoped somebody didn't get their surf board wedged in the crack!!
After the wave fun, we went back to our park pool and then chilled by the van with a couple of beers. Later we headed back into Surfers for some food. As we have now been travelling for 6 months without a divorce, we decided to treat ourselves at Hard Rock Café.
We had a great meal and a few drinks, then headed over to an Irish bar to continue the night. We got a bit merry! There goes the early night!
