Our only stop off on the way to Rockhampton was at a place called Carmilla for lunch - basically a service station, farmhouse and a rusty old truck! That's what was in Carmilla, not what we had for lunch - although the ham did have a rusty truck taste to it!
When we arrived at Rockhampton, we found a site near the river, aptly named the Riverside Caravan Park! It was after 4pm by now, so we just went for a walk around the town - yet another one of Australia's ghost towns by the looks of it. We did find a store selling Christmas lights though - they are now glistening with pride in the campervan window!
We went back to the site and rustled up a chicken rogan josh - well, Lorna did, I just did the washing up. I'm not sure how dangerous it is giving me a curry then allowing me to sleep in the small confines of a campervan! Possible overnight gas emergency maybe occurring here! Well, at least we'll sleep well!
Lorna has made me book this site for 2 nights instead of 1. She spotted a Domino's pizza place 100 yards down the road and it's 'Cheap Tuesday' tomorrow!! Yes, we are stopping another night just for cheap pizza!! She doesn't change does she!?
