First place we passed through was Millaa Millaa - dunno why they named it twice! The sign was bigger than the blummin' village. Why you spend time trying to say the name of the village you have passed through it! The only thing it reminded me of was that Cameroon footballer Roger Milla and also that dodgy fake male pop duet Milli Vanilli - Remember them?! Anyway, nuff said about Millaa Millaa.
Next we went on the 16km waterfall circuit - driving of course! First falls were Millaa Millaa falls. These were definitely the best and had a great swimming hole. They looked just like a sheet of water dropping from the jungle above. This was a really nice area.
Next we arrived at Zillie Falls. You can only see these from the top and therefore there is no swimming hole. They are still impressive to see though.
Third stop was at Ellinjaa Falls. These were good as you feel right in the middle of the jungle when at them. There is a swimming hole here as well and bush everywhere!
Final stop was at Mugalli Falls. We looked at these from the top which gave great views over the surrounding rainforest. Another place with a great view was 'Crawfords Lookout', on the way to Innisfail. You could see right down over the rainforest and see the river as well.
We stopped at Innisfail for fuel, shopping & lunch then continued on to Mission Beach.
Got a text from Phil saying he had got a new iPhone and could therefore read our blog on the bog!.......why would you share that with me.....I have got images in my head of you forcing one out whilst reading about our travels......dunno if I can go on anymore!! Just be careful to use the correct hand when wiping your backside, otherwise your iPhone will come with free skid mark! (always said they were sh*t phones!).
Anyway, enough of Phil's rectal activity, we shall move on. We arrived at Wongaling Beach, next to Mission Beach, and checked into Dunk Island View Van Park. We then had a wander around the small town of Mission Beach - there ain't much going off here. We walked back along the beach (which is very nice & clean) and was reminded that this was where Webby & Lisa landed after sky-diving. We looked around to see if Webby's steamer was still smouldering away, but it may have finally dissolved!!
On the way back to our van, Lorna spotted a liquor store and she was off! Wine was of a low quantity in the van, and even though we have Sambuca, Vodka & Martini in abundance, apparently 4 more litres of wine were required!!
After her purchase we headed back to the park for a swim in the pool until dark. We then had dinner sat under the stars - very romantic for us two!!
