This morning we headed off on the short journey to Ellis Beach. On the way we stopped off at Palm Cove. This is a beautiful beachside village that seems to have a really slow pace of life. We parked up and had a walk down the beach - slowly of course - before boarding the Forest Tour Bus onto Ellis.

The site we got at the Ellis Beach Oceanfront park was right in the beach edge. We basically opened our back campervan door and looked out to see. It was amazing views. The breeze from the sea cooled us down as well. We have been sleeping with the back door open at night to keep cool. I created a piece of netting, from the mozzie net we brought with us, to put over the entrance to stop any overnight bug invasion. It probably won't be enough to stop the croc's, but I haven't mentioned that to Lorna yet!!

We took a walk up the beach, which again is fab and so clean & empty. There was an area available for swimming as it was surrounded by stinger nets (to stop the jellyfish) but it doesn't guarantee safety!! We then came across a dodgy roadside bar. It looked like there had been many a backpacker death occurring here, so we thought we would give it a miss tonight. That is actually THE only place on Ellis Beach - it's very secluded!

After having lunch and doing some laundry we decided to spend the afternoon lazing on the beachfront and swimming in the campsite pool. A most enjoyable day in the sunshine.

We had dinner outside overlooking the night ocean and downed a few cold ones as the night rolled in - wicked!
